Vintage
and Auto Rebuilds is the only source for the Silver Ghost air
cleaner. When new, the cars were not fitted with an air cleaner from
the factory...except for one late Springfield car. This car was
fitted with a prototype, one-off air cleaner by the Springfield
factory. The part and the car to which it was fitted was located and
comprehensive shop drawings were produced of the air cleaner assembly,
including the necessary revised air valve. After testing of the
prototyple, the assembly was then
manufactured by our in-house machine shop and other select outside
contractors in a manner consistent with the way in which the
Springfield works would have produced it, except that it
accommodates a modern air filter element. The complete assembly and air valve are a
bolt-on accessory that can be added to nearly any Silver Ghost car.
Installation is easy so that any owner can readily fit one to their
car themselves. It is, by far, the single best improvement that can
be made to the Silver Ghost design to decrease wear and increase
